In the summer of 2002, Jeremy Goldberg, after experiencing the tragic events of 9/11 first hand while working on Wall Street, had decided life was too short. Quitting his job as a bond broker, he joined his friends in making a documentary about craft beer in the United States. In the making of the film, called American Beer, they traveled from Maine to California, Seattle to New Orleans, visiting 38 breweries in 40 days.
Returning, Jeremy knew his future lay in beer. Within 6 months, along with his brother-in-law and father, the Cape Ann Brewery was in the works in Glouster, MA, home of America’s oldest seaport. In May 2004, Cape Ann Brewing released their flagship, Fisherman’s Brew. Today, Cape Ann Brewing’s beers are available in 9 states from Maine to Virginia. Their offerings include 3 year-round beers, an award-winning German-style Kolsh, and three seasonal brews. Additionally, in their recently-opened brewpub on the sight of the brewery, they offer additional interesting and unusual varieties to their patrons.
Cape Ann Brewing is proud to donate to the Northeast Seafood Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to working with government regulators and evironmentalists to preserve the longterm health of fishery resources, communities and industry.
