Blue Hills Brewery Beers (from www.BlueHillsBrewery.com)

Extra Pale Ale (X.P.A.)

This ale is a real thirst quencher. Moderately hopped, it is designed to accent the crisp flavor of the 2-row malt used in brewing this “light” beer. Although it is brewed using ale yeast, we ferment this beer longer than usual, almost like a lager, to bring out the malt flavor that lingers on the palate after every drink. With a modest ABV of 5.25%, this is a very good session beer.

India Pale Ale (I.P.A.)

Our I.P.A. recipe is formulated true to its style. These beers were originally brewed for the British Merchant vessels sailing to and from India. To endure the long voyages these beers were brewed to higher alcohol content and used an abundant amount of hops as preservative to stabilize the beer.

Our I.P.A. has a fiery amber color and weighs in at 6.6% ABV. We use a blend of American hops to give it a citrus, almost tangerine aroma from the top of the glass. As you drink the beer you can taste the sweet creamy caramel malt roll over your tongue. At the end once again taste the big hop flavor that is a trademark of all I.P.A.’s, but yet, so smooth that it won’t make you pucker at the bitterness.

Irish Red Ale

This beer is a classic beer known for its malt character. Pour it into the glass and marvel at the deep red color achieved by a combination of specialty dark roasted malts. This beer is lightly hopped so that the complex malt flavors can be enjoyed. This beer has an ABV of approx. 5%.

German Heffeweizen

This beer is a traditional German wheat beer, where the bulk ingredient is wheat and not malted barley. Very light bodied and fermented using Heffeweizen yeast, which gives the beer a natural banana and clove flavor. This beer is very refreshing, enjoyed as is or with a wedge of lemon. This style beer is also unfiltered so when it is poured into the glass expect a cloudy product. 4.75% ABV.
