On July 2nd from 5-8pm, Amesbury will host its first annual brewfest entitled “Amesbrewery Days International Craft Brewers Festival.” I’m sure the actual brewfest will be better than it’s name.

This event will be held at the Amesbury Mass Town Hall parking lot next to Maggie Sundae. The brewfest will cost $25, but the moeny will go directly to the 2011 Amesbury Days Festival and Fireworks display. Not sure what that means… Beerfest!!!

Bottling to start at Boston Beer Works

Bottling to start at Boston Beer WorksYou’ll soon be able to purchase Boston Beer Works craft beer at local beer stores in the greater Boston area.  As I understand, the popular Boston Brewer and Restaurant is in the midst of receiving their distributors license.  I was lucky enough to grab a six pack of Fenway American Pale ale from the GM on my last visit.. and Beer Works fans will NOT be disappointed.  It almost tastes better than on tap.  Full review to come after my next bottle, but I am very impressed.  Can’t wait to see these at stores. In the meantime, pickup a Growler or a bomber of select favorites at any Beer Works locations! For more information, read our post on Boston Beer Works.

Better beer for Boston Bars in 2010

December 30, 2009 by Parker

The new year is around the corner. Many people will join a gym, promise to quit smoking or drinking so much, or tell themselves that they will find a better job in 2010. All great resolutions, but all will be forgotten once the weather turns. In the spirit of resolutions, I challenge the owners and managers of Boston’s bars and pubs to take up a resolution in 2010. Sell better, and more beer. Mix up the taps. Sure, Harpoon IPA and Sam Seasonals are great, don’t get me wrong, but how about throwing some variety into the mix. Let’s see some smuttynose, shipyard, cisco and ipswitch. Keep it local, but spice it up. In particular the bars in the financial district, southie, and back bay need a change. Let 2010 be the year of craft beer!
